Coe Manufacturing Consolidates Kiln Operations

Coe Manufacturing has recently undertaken consolidation of facilities and functions to gain operational and customer support efficiencies. To this end we will consolidate our kiln product functions to our Tigard (Portland), Oregon operation. This consolidation will result in the closure of our Richmond, British Columbia facility, as all kiln-related functions are centralized in Tigard.

The consolidation of kiln operations will better position us to provide sales support for our customers and tighten the focus of our engineering services for product design and enhancements. We believe kilns are an important element of our solid wood products offering and we will continue to offer the same level of support for new kilns, aftermarket upgrades, parts, and services from our Tigard facility. Frank Scheidel is now Product Line Manager for our kiln products, and our clients will continue to deal with their usual kiln sales representatives.

To better meet our customers’ drying challenges, we are investing in new kiln enhancements. For example, we will soon be announcing the next generation in-kiln moisture detection system available as an upgrade to existing kilns or as an option to new kilns. Details will be released very soon.
