Coe Manufacturing Company Celebrates 150 Years of Developing Superior Quality Equipment for its CustomersDuring the calendar year 2002, the Coe Manufacturing Company will be celebrating 150 Years of developing superior quality equipment for its customers. Two entrepreneurs, Harold Hayes Coe and Leonard Anderson, founded the Coe Manufacturing Company in Painesville, Ohio, in 1852. Coe started off as a manufacturer of Sawmill Machinery, and eventually developed the Rotary Veneer Lathe. The company has survived adversity in the shape of wars, recessions, changes in ownership and a list of other events to become a major supplier to companies around the world in need of machinery used to manufacture goods provided by the Forest and Building Products, Rubber and Laminates industries. Coe Manufacturing Company has continued to develop its Veneer Lathe technology and in so doing has grown into a competitive international provider of Veneer Lathe Systems and other related machinery in areas such as Veneer Dryers, Gypsum Dryers, Panel Board and Plywood Presses, Scanning and Optimization Equipment, Planers, Dry Kilns, RF Gluing and Laminating Systems, and Rubber and Laminate Presses. We will be commemorating this 150-year milestone with a year long, company wide celebration that includes a long list of activities to involve the employees, residents and officials of the communities in which we work and live. The logo below, created by an employee from our Painesville facility, was a result of a company wide contest held earlier in the year. Today, Coe is independently owned and operates three (3) manufacturing facilities in the United States and Canada with approximately 500 employees.
